Create your very own cute little heart mug rug for valentines day! You can never have enough coasters, right?! This little mug rug works up super quick, so it’s perfect for a last minute gift. Our pattern includes written instructions and a crochet graph to follow. Let’s get started!
Materials
- Hook: 5mm
- Yarn: Aran weight yarn in Cream (C) and Red (R)
- Arrows indicate the direction that you are crocheting, and each box on the chart represents a single crochet (sc).
- Chain 1 does not count as a stitch.
- In the written instructions the number of sc is indicated alongside the colour; for example (C) x 8 means 8 sc in Cream.

Attach Fringe
- Complete a row of single crochet all the way around the mug rug.
- Cut 24 pieces of red yarn approx 5″ long
- Starting at a corner of Row 1, insert your hook into the first stitch from the back of your work to the front.
- Fold 1 piece of yarn in half and grab the middle with your hook.
- Pull the folded yarn through the stitch, and draw up a loop
- Pull the ends of the yarn through this loop and tighten. Repeat across two sides of the mug rug.
